Monroe Elementary Language Academy Receives Statewide Recognition

Monroe Elementary Language Academy was honored for its outstanding Spanish dual language immersion program during the 2018 Golden Bell Awards ceremony at the California School Board Association (CSBA) Conference in San Francisco last week. Monroe was one of only two dual language schools out of 400 across the state to receive this prestigious award.

arden Grove Unified School District has expanded its Mobile School Food Pantry program, which launched last year at Peters K-3 and Peters 4-6 elementary schools in partnership with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.  During the 2018-2019 school year, the mobile food pantry program will be offered again at Peters Elementary School, and also at Heritage Elementary Computer Science Immersion Academy and Violette Elementary School.

Six students from Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) are currently competing on NBC’s hit show America’s Got Talent as part of the Voices of Hope Children’s Choir, a spectacular group of 70 students ranging in age from five to seventeen.  GGUSD parent Michael Ketterer is also a contestant on the show as a solo vocalist. Both acts earned coveted spots on the show’s semi-finals which will air September 4th.
