Regional Stay-at-Home Order
Dear GGUSD Families and Staff,
Today, Governor Newsom announced a Regional Stay-at-Home Order due to recent significant increases in COVID-19 cases including hospitalizations and deaths.
The Regional Stay-at-Home Order will go into effect within 48 hours when regions reach less than 15% capacity in hospital intensive care units (ICUs). The order prohibits private gatherings of any size, closes sector operations except for critical infrastructure and retail, and requires 100% masking and physical distancing in all others. The order will remain in effect for at least 3 weeks and, after that period, will be lifted when a region’s projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15%. This will be assessed on a weekly basis after the initial 3 week period.
Please note that this new order does not apply to schools and does not require the closure of schools in California that have already opened for in-person instruction.

GGUSD continues to encourage all families to do their part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. GGUSD continues to ask families, outside of student pick-up and drop-off or meal distribution, to continue to conduct non-essential school business via phone or email. Please remember that any GGUSD employee or student with symptoms of COVID-19, exposure to an individual with COVID-19 and/or those awaiting COVID-19 test results should stay home.

Orden regional de quedarse en casa
Estimadas familias y empleados del GGUSD:
El día de hoy, el gobernador Newsom anunció una orden regional de quedarse en casa debido a los recientes aumentos significativos en los casos del COVID-19, que incluyen hospitalizaciones y muertes.
La orden regional de quedarse en casa entrará en vigor dentro de 48 horas cuando las regiones alcancen menos del 15% de capacidad en las unidades de cuidados intensivos (ICU) en los hospitales.
