Weekly Reopening Update - October 23, 2020

Dear Parents,

We are grateful for your continued patience as we prepare to reopen campuses for in-person hybrid instruction. Next week on October 28th, Garden Grove Unified School District will reopen 13 of our Tier 1 schools for hybrid instruction and will reopen Tier 2 and Tier 3 schools shortly after on November 12th and December 1st. Our fantastic employees have been hard at work getting our schools ready with hand washing and hand sanitizing stations, signage, Plexiglas barriers, classroom reconfiguration, and other facility improvements to create a safe and welcoming environment when students return. 

There are many ways that parents can help support a safe and smooth transition to in-person hybrid instruction, including:

  1. Take the temperature of your child(ren) each morning and do not send your child(ren) to school if they have a fever of 100.4 or above or any symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, headache, shortness of breath, sore throat, chills, muscle or body aches, loss of taste and smell, or gastrointestinal issues).  
     
  2. Complete the daily Health Screening Form in ParentSquare each morning before sending your child(ren) to school. Click here for instructions.

  3. Ensure that your child knows how to properly wear a mask throughout the school day.

  4. Talk to your child about the importance of physical distancing and frequent hand washing.

  5. Send your child to school with only his/her necessary belongings (mask, back pack, school supplies, jacket, water bottle).

GGUSD is committed to providing accurate and transparent information regarding COVID-19 cases on our campuses, while also maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of our students and staff.  The district is developing a COVID-19 Dashboard reflecting confirmed positive cases among district students and staff on our campuses (in-person instruction only).  The Dashboard will be launched on Monday, November 2nd. Data will be updated every day at 5 p.m. The Dashboard will include information about GGUSD’s communication process. The District will only communicate and provide data for confirmed COVID-19 cases.  In the event of a confirmed case, the principal will send a ParentSquare message to 1.) all staff and parents of students who have been identified as close contacts; 2.) a low exposure notification to students/staff in the classroom who are not close contacts; and 3.) a message to the entire school community. Close contact is considered being within 6 feet of an individual with COVID-19 for 15 minutes or more cumulative within 24 hours.  The district will report all confirmed cases of COVID-19 to the Orange County Health Care Agency for consultation and an exposure investigation.  

Most importantly, be sure that you are up-to-date on all of the information from your child’s school site regarding hybrid instruction schedules, drop-off and pick-up procedures, Grab and Go Meal schedules, and more. GGUSD is committed to keeping our community well-informed as we navigate a new era in education and work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Please review our Health and Safety Reopening Procedures and take time to discuss these important topics with your children.

Estimados padres de familia:

Agradecemos su continua paciencia mientras nos preparamos para reabrir los planteles escolares para la instrucción en persona con un modelo híbrido. La próxima semana, el 28 de octubre, el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Garden Grove reabrirá 13 de nuestras escuelas en el Nivel Uno para la instrucción con modelo híbrido y reabrirá las escuelas en el Nivel Dos y Nivel Tres poco después, el 12 de noviembre y el 1o de diciembre. Nuestros maravillosos empleados han estado trabajando arduamente para que nuestras escuelas estén listas con las estaciones para lavar y desinfectarse las manos, letreros, barreras de Plexiglass, reconfiguración de los salones de clases y otras mejoras en las instalaciones para crear un entorno seguro y acogedor para cuando regresen los alumnos.

Hay muchas maneras en que los padres de familia pueden colaborar para que la transición a las clases en persona con modelo híbrido sea segura y sin problemas, incluyendo:

  1. Tomar la temperatura de sus hijos todas las mañanas y no mandar a sus hijos a la escuela si tienen fiebre de 100.4 grados o más, o si tienen cualquier síntoma del COVID-19 (tos, dolor de cabeza, dificultad para respirar, dolor de garganta, escalofríos, dolor de los músculos o del cuerpo, pérdida del sentido del gusto u olfato o problemas gastrointestinales).

  2. Completar el Formulario de Evaluación de Salud Diaria en ParentSquare cada mañana antes de enviar a sus hijos a la escuela. Haga clic aquí para leer las instrucciones.

  3. Asegurarse que sus hijos sepan cómo usar las mascarillas adecuadamente durante el día escolar.

  4.  Hablar con sus hijos sobre la importancia del distanciamiento físico y de lavarse las manos frecuentemente.

  5. Enviar a sus hijos a la escuela solamente con sus pertenencias necesarias (mascarilla, mochila, útiles escolares, chaqueta, botella de agua).

El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Garden Grove se compromete a proporcionar información exacta y transparente con relación a los casos del COVID-19 en nuestros planteles escolares, mientras mantiene también la privacidad y confidencialidad de nuestros alumnos y del personal. El Distrito está desarrollando un Tablero del COVID-19 que reflejará los casos positivos confirmados entre los alumnos del Distrito y el personal de nuestros planteles escolares (solamente para la instrucción en persona). El tablero será publicado el lunes, 2 de noviembre.  Los datos serán actualizados cada día a las 5:00 p.m. El tablero incluirá información acerca del proceso de comunicación del GGUSD. El Distrito solamente comunicará y proporcionará los datos de los casos del COVID-19 que sean confirmados.  En caso de que se confirme un caso de infección, el director de la escuela enviará un mensaje por ParentSquare a:

  1. todo el personal y los padres de familia de los alumnos que han sido identificados como personas que han tenido contacto cercano con la persona infectada;
  2. los alumnos o personal en el salón de clases para notificarle a las personas que estuvieron menos expuestas y que no tuvieron contacto cercano con la persona infectada; y
  3. a toda la comunidad escolar. 

Se consideran como contactos cercanos a aquellas personas que están a 6 pies de distancia de la persona con COVID-19 por 15 minutos cumulativos o más, dentro de un período de 24 horas.  El Distrito le informará a la Agencia para el Cuidado de la Salud del Condado de Orange sobre todos los casos confirmados del COVID-19, para hacer consultas e investigar dicha exposición. 

Lo más importante, asegúrense de que estén al tanto de la información más reciente que proporcione el plantel escolar de sus hijos referente a los horarios para la instrucción con un modelo híbrido, procedimientos para dejar y recoger a sus hijos, horarios de la distribución de las Comidas para Recoger y Llevar y mucho más. El GGUSD tiene el compromiso de mantener a nuestra comunidad bien informada mientras navegamos una nueva era en la educación y trabajamos juntos para prevenir la propagación del COVID-19.  Por favor consulten nuestros Procedimientos de Salud y Seguridad para la Reaperturay tomen el tiempo para dialogar con sus hijos sobre estos temas importantes.

Kính thưa quý Phụ huynh,

Chúng tôi vô cùng cảm kích quý vị vẫn luôn kiên nhẫn trong thời gian chúng ta chuẩn bị mở lại trường theo chương trình học kết hợp ở trường và trên mạng. Bắt đầu từ ngày 28 tháng 10 vào tuần tới, Khu Học Chính Garden Grove sẽ mở lại 13 trường thuộc Giai Đoạn 1 theo chương trình học kết hợp và sẽ mở lại các trường thuộc Giai Đoạn 2 và Giai Đoạn 3 tiếp theo vào ngày 12 tháng 11 và ngày 1 tháng 12.  Các nhân viên ưu tú của chúng ta đã rất tận tuỵ làm việc để chuẩn bị cho nhà trường có sẵn sàng các bồn rửa tay và trạm nước khử trùng tay, biển hướng dẫn, tấm nhựa ngăn Plexiglass, xếp đặt lại phòng học và cải tiến cơ sở phòng ốc để tạo môi trường an toàn và thân thiện khi học sinh đi học trở lại.

Phụ huynh có thể hỗ trợ cho tiến trình chuyển tiếp vào chương trình học kết hợp an toàn và hiệu quả theo nhiều cách, gồm có:  

  1. Đo thân nhiệt cho con em mỗi sáng, và không cho con em đi học nếu bị sốt 100.4 độ hoặc hơn, hay có những triệu chứng nhiễm COVID-19 (ho, nhức đầu, khó thở, đau cổ họng, ớn lạnh, đau nhức bắp thịt hay toàn thân, mất vị giác hay khứu giác hoặc có vấn đề về đường tiêu hoá).

  2. Điền Mẫu Kiểm Tra Sức Khoẻ trên ParentSquare mỗi sáng trước khi cho con đi học. Nhấn vào đây để xem hướng dẫn.

  3. Bảo đảm con em biết đeo khẩu trang đúng cách trong suốt thời gian học ở trường.

  4. Nói với con về tầm quan trọng của việc giữ khoảng cách an toàn và rửa tay thường xuyên. 

  5. Chỉ cho phép con được mang đến trường những đồ dùng cần thiết của con (khẩu trang, túi đeo lưng, học cụ, áo lạnh, chai nước lọc)

Khu Học Chính Garden Grove cam kết cung cấp những thông tin chính xác và minh bạch về các trường hợp liên quan đến COVID-19 trong khuôn viên trường, đồng thời duy trì sự riêng tư và bảo mật cho học sinh và nhân viên trong học khu. Học khu đang thiết lập Bảng Thông Tin về COVID-19 nhằm phản ảnh những trường hợp học sinh và nhân viên trong học khu bị xác nhận đã nhiễm bệnh trong trường (chỉ vào giờ học trong lớp).  Bảng Thông Tin sẽ bắt đầu được gửi ra vào thứ hai, ngày 2 tháng 11. Hàng ngày, chúng tôi sẽ cập nhật các dữ liệu vào lúc 5 giờ chiều. Bảng Thông Tin cũng bao gồm những thông báo về tiến trình liên lạc của GGUSD. Học khu sẽ chỉ liên lạc và cung cấp dữ liệu về các trường hợp COVID-19 đã được xác nhận mà thôi. Nếu có một trường hợp bệnh được xác nhận, hiệu trưởng sẽ gửi tin nhắn qua ParentSquare cho 1.) tất cả nhân viên và phụ huynh của học sinh được xác định là có tiếp xúc gần với người bệnh; 2.) thông báo về khả năng lây nhiễm thấp cho những học sinh/nhân viên trong lớp không tiếp xúc gần với người bệnh và 3.) thông báo cho toàn cộng đồng trường. Tiếp xúc gần được coi là tiếp xúc với một người nhiễm COVID-19 trong khoảng cách 6 feet chừng 15 phút hoặc hơn, và ở trong vòng 24 giờ. Học khu sẽ báo cáo với Sở Y Tế Hạt Orange tất cả những trường hợp xác nhận bị nhiễm COVID-19 để được hướng dẫn và điều tra thêm về những trường hợp có thể lây nhiễm. 

Điều quan trọng nhất, quý vị nhớ theo dõi mọi thông tin cập nhật của nhà trường liên quan tới lịch trình học kết hợp, thể thức đưa và đón con em, lịch phát Bữa Ăn Đến Lấy Mang Đi, và nhiều điều nữa. GGUSD cam kết tiếp tục thông báo tin tức cho cộng đồng trong khi chúng ta chuyển sang một giai đoạn học tập mới và cùng nhau hợp tác để ngăn ngừa COVID-19 lây lan.
