Allen Elementary Student Named Spelling Bee Champion

Spelling Bee Winner Elliana Nguyen

GGUSD proudly hosted its 37th annual Elementary School Spelling Bee on February 26, bringing together the district’s top elementary student spellers for a thrilling competition at Edgar District Meeting Center. Allen Elementary School sixth grader Elliana Nguyen claimed the championship, correctly spelling the word "miscellaneous." Second place was awarded to Victoria Nguyen from Anthony Elementary School.

“This year’s Spelling Bee was an exciting and inspiring showcase of our students’ dedication to academic excellence,” said Board of Education President Lan Nguyen. “We take great pride in our district’s top spellers and the efforts of our schools in preparing students for this challenging competition.”

Board of Education President Lan Nguyen, Trustee Teri Rocco, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education Lisa Swartz and Assistant Superintendent of K-12 Educational Services Lorena Sanchez attended the event and awarded certificates to the spellers.

The event was also attended by school principals, teachers, staff and families who provided cheers of encouragement throughout the program.
