Lake Intermediate School was presented with a donation of musical instruments from The Philharmonic Society on November 3.
The school received a string bass, two alto saxophones, a French horn, four clarinets, four flutes, and three trumpets. The donation was made possible through The Philharmonic’s Strike Up the Band program which offers instruments to schools that are doing great work and could use more resources.
“We are grateful for the support of The Philharmonic Society which has led to a stronger music education program at schools throughout our district over the years,” said Lan Quoc Nguyen, Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education trustee.
Following the instrument presentation, Lake Intermediate Music Teacher Michael Johnson and the school’s band provided a musical performance as a way to say thank you to representatives from The Philharmonic Society, Principal Margaret Feliciani, and Stacy Harris, GGUSD Coordinator of Visual and Performing Arts.
